Total Request Live

July 7th, 2011 by Cheese

Here’s one from the Jam’s McCarthy’s era. It’s got drawings from Kevin Colden, Dave McKenna, Evan Forsch, myself and a slew of others. I started this one on the bus en route to the bar, I remember the lady next to me giving me dirty looks as I drew a guy’s mouth exploding. Well, y’know, that’ll happen.

It also features one of the sometimes-too-often “Character X Becomes Cheese” scenarios. In this one Joe Meyer turns me into Jesus. So be it.

This is the first update in a while, Team 12 has been through several babies and a wedding (my own) over the last four months, but I’m beginning to get back on track. I have a bunch more scanned and will get to editing and posting them over the next week. Honest.

Space Giants

February 26th, 2011 by Cheese

I’m pretty sure this one’s done by Darryl Ayo, Dave McKenna and myself back and forth, back and forth. I really liked this one and hoped it’d last a little longer, but sadly, no one ever picked it up again.  From 2009.

Best… Ever…

February 26th, 2011 by Cheese

This 2009 comic starts out with some kitty puke, ends in tragedy.  Short and sweet, sometimes you just nail it early.  I remember Jenny commenting on the nice kitty drawing in panel 1, which I think contributed to it’s final outcome.

Best… Ever…

I actually have no idea who did this, sorry!

Triceratops

January 23rd, 2011 by Cheese

Late 2010: This one might actually still be going if we didn’t run out of paper. The last panels in this story were just completed a few weeks ago, so for all you folks who complain I don’t put new stuff up: A) you’re right, I have a  huge back log, and B) suck it.  This one goes some strange places, involves ranch dressing and a history lesson (below) from Dave McKenna.

Budapest

January 23rd, 2011 by Cheese

Here’s a thing that happens, sometimes a story will get done in a book, the book will kick around, more stories will get put in it, and someone will eventually pick it up and continue an older one, with mixed results.  This time out, Kenly Dillard picked up this story from 2009 and added a great last panel.  Neat!  Please excuse the first panel being all fucked up, sometimes beer spills.

Three pretty shitty jams

January 23rd, 2011 by Cheese

Are all the jams we do gold?  Fuck no. The ones you see here are cherry picked from piles of mediocre to just godawful nightmares of assholery.  Here are three examples of jams that were either ill-conceived or just went off directionless. From 2006-2008 maybe.

The Pigman

November 23rd, 2010 by Cheese

The Pigman is the first jam we ever did way back in August of 2001.  It’s a little on the stupid side, way on the drunk side and mostly done in pencil on beer stained pages. Terrible, clumsy crap from Cheese, Dave McKenna, K. Thor Jensen, Goat Reinecker, and Tim Kelly.

The Pirate Jam

November 23rd, 2010 by Cheese

From 2004, The Pirate Jam was our first attempt at a longform story, with debatable results. Tthere are some fun gags and a ton of great drawings in it’s 185 panels, but it devolves into a sex joke by the third panel and never really recovers.  There was a plan by some of us to try and edit it into a printed mini-comic, but one group reading proved that pretty impossible.

Noteable for some early Miss Lasko-Gross and Kevin Colden panels and an odd section where Neil Kleid and Danny Hellman go back and forth drawing blow jobs, over and over.

Texas 2099

November 23rd, 2010 by Cheese

Hailing from November of 2005, this jam, Texas 2099, I really tried to set something up that wouldn’t instantly devolve into a dick joke, but Miss ruins it by the third panel. I thought a nice sci-fi western would be innocent enough to slip under the turgid cock-radar, but no, it wasn’t to be. Still, it’s got some great art from Miss Lasko-Gross, Dave McKenna and Joe Meyer in it and some fun ideas.
