The Jumper

Here’s another tidbit from from behind the scenes of the Jams: My studio is a rats nest.  It’s true.  It’s packed to the ceilings with books, loose papers, old toys and electronic equipment (mostly old video game consoles). Up until recently I used to just pile the jam books into the same pile with everything else, making it hard to find the most recently used books come jam time. Why am I telling you this?  Well, mostly because here’s a story that’s dated as January 2005 – October 2005.  Nine months to complete 22 panels, some of them only jizz jokes.  Most likely this is the result of me losing the book for several months and then finding it again during some of my bi-annual clean-ups. This changed recently thanks to my living situation changing, but only incrementally.

The Jumper takes a turn for the weird about two thirds through, with killer babies and what might be the head of Richard Nixon, I think someone tried to start a new jam, but it got tied into the old one anyways.  Early Kate Lacour art about three pages from the end.

The New York Comic Jam usually meets the first week of every month at Jack Demsey's Pub in Herald Square, New York City. Located directly down the block from fave-rave comics shop Jim Hanley's Universe, Demsey's offers various snacks, entrees and of course a full selection of boozery. All are welcome, so come on out and join in on the fun!
