Here’s one from 2007 or 2008 featuring one of the Jams favorite subjects, religion. I’ve said before, religion and fart jokes are many cartoonists bread and butter. They are subjects that are easy to grasp and easy to mock. This one features one of my top picks for ‘Miss Lasko-Gross’ best contribution to the Jams,’ her panel is simply beautiful.

Are all the jams we do gold? Fuck no. The ones you see here are cherry picked from piles of mediocre to just godawful nightmares of assholery. Here are three examples of jams that were either ill-conceived or just went off directionless. From 2006-2008 maybe.

Here’s a thing that happens, sometimes a story will get done in a book, the book will kick around, more stories will get put in it, and someone will eventually pick it up and continue an older one, with mixed results. This time out, Kenly Dillard picked up this story from 2009 and added a great last panel. Neat! Please excuse the first panel being all fucked up, sometimes beer spills.

Late 2010: This one might actually still be going if we didn’t run out of paper. The last panels in this story were just completed a few weeks ago, so for all you folks who complain I don’t put new stuff up: A) you’re right, I have a huge back log, and B) suck it. This one goes some strange places, involves ranch dressing and a history lesson (below) from Dave McKenna.

An all too easy, yet hilarious, movie parody from the Summer of 2008 that goes well beyond good taste. Common decency often goes directly out the window after 6 pints of beer is poured onto the average human brain, and thank god, ‘cuz this shit’s funny.

Here’s a particularly awesome jam from October of 2009. Totally awesome panels from Miss Lasko-Gross, Evan Forsch and special guest Hans Rickheit who was in town signing his excellent book, The Squirrel Machine. One of my favorites from any time period.

Nothing serves a jam better then some good ol’ drunken racism, 1940′s style. Here we have some Sumo wrestlers engaging in some big butt worship, bigotedly. Dated March of 03, check out panel 3 by Adriano, below, very pretty.

Nice teeth.

Here’s a pretty typical jam from the early McCarthy’s days. It features hippies, drugs, celebrities and absolutely no coherent story whatsoever; nice art throughout, though.

Salt monsters and ass sex, what else would you expect from a NYC Comic Jam take on Star Trek?

Here’s a pretty good one from 2006 featuring not only a few nice drawings but a swipe at our lack of spelling ability and a great punch-line by Evan Forsch. This particular story also gives you a look into our process a bit by showing the first five panels as one page, as they are in the book.
